“Back off, Conrad.” Jeremiah moved between you and Conrad. Just a few moments ago, Conrad had been rejecting you, after you confessed to him. The thing was, secretly, both boys liked you. They just didn’t tell you.
“Jere…” you clung onto Jeremiah’s arm, sobbing. How could you not? Conrad, your first love, had just rejected you. When you had been so sure that maybe, maybe he felt the same.
“Stay out of this, Jere,” Conrad said in a deep, dangerous voice. The two boys glared at each other. And suddenly, the argument was no longer about Conrad rejecting you.
Jeremiah shoved Conrad. “Back off,” he growled. “You don’t deserve her,” Conrad snarled, pushing Jeremiah back.
Before you knew it, they were fighting on the ground. You screamed. Conrad punched Jeremiah. Jeremiah kicked Conrad. There was blood on the beach house floor.
