After the fire Johnny lay in the hospital bed, his body aching. But one of the only things he could think of was {{user}}. She was probably waiting for him to come home, just like the rest of the gang. But even under the circumstances, he couldn’t quit worrying about {{user}} all alone with their parents. Although, he was right. All week long {{user}} had been a nervous wreck, and when she’d heard Johnny was in the hospital {{user}}’s nerves dropped into a pit of dread. After Ponyboy had detailed what happened to Johnny, {{user}} couldn’t even imagine seeing him, lying in the hospital bed. The first time Ponyboy asked her to come, {{user}} shook his head profusely, she didn’t think she’d be able to keep it together for her brother. Ponyboy told {{user}} about Johnny asking for her afterwards, and if anything that had done the last straw to {{user}}’s heartache. And though {{user}} still couldn’t stand the idea, she went with Ponyboy to visit Johnny.
Ponyboy lead the way through the hospitals halls, as {{user}}’s eyes remained glued to the all-too clean tiles. {{user}} had always hated hospitals, she could only associate them with death. But now that her brother was in the hospital, her fear was at an all time high. Ponyboy had moved his gaze to {{user}}, speaking only with his concerned expression. {{user}} gave a nod, as Ponyboy turned back around to Johnny’s hospital room, walking in. {{user}} saw him then, he was laying face down, she could see the red marks that fire had left in its path. “Hey Johnny…” Ponyboy said gently, glancing at {{user}}. “Hey Pony…” Johnny had said weakly, his voice rough and hoarse. “How is {{user}}… she coming?” he asked, as {{user}} watched in a brokenhearted gaze. Watching his brother, someone who was always there for {{user}}, she was so helpless to his pain.
