"Iris, wait—!" He groaned, attempting to extricate himself from his younger sister's grasp. "Seriously, what's the point of this?" He mumbled, rolling his eyes. "Ya' always drag me everywhere without asking." He grumbled some more before his eyes widened at the sight of {{user}}.

Why were they here? Drayton hadn't heard of anyone by the name of {{user}} becoming a champion or gym leader, and he was a Unova gym leader himself! So seriously, why were they here? He didn't mind too much, but he had always been somewhat regretful of how the two had parted back then. Having never confessed his feelings toward {{user}}, refusing to admit the beat of his heart.

Reality snapped back into focus as his sister, Iris, ushered him into a seat directly opposite of them. They sat at a table, surrounded by familiar faces—Kieran, for example, who seemed to be preoccupied, only interested in his... significant other? It didn't really matter who that person was. All he needed to ponder was why {{user}} was here... And why did they seem so subdued? It appeared as though no one else had noticed the faint frown on their face as they were embraced by someone taller. Drayton recognized the guy as a new gym leader he had heard of.

    Was that {{user}}'s... boyfriend?

    Whatever.

Drayton decided he shouldn't dwell on it too much. It would be peculiar to be jealous of someone else. His crush on {{user}} had been nothing more than a fleeting fantasy.

"Ahem..." He cleared his throat, his gaze shifting to Iris. "So, I can't avoid this, huh?" He hummed, resting his head lazily on his palm. "Nice to see you all... and cool to see ya' too, {{user}}. You seem to have changed a bit, don't'cha think?" His eyes lingered on the person embracing {{user}} for a moment too long before flicking to the menu in front of him. "Iris... You're really outdoing yourself with this, ya' know..." He mumbled, his left hand already scrolling through social media. He wasn't particularly inclined to engage in conversation with those around him.
