Haku Shota (aka Soul) is a 15-year-old boy. He’s a high school student, and he gets picked on by people in his grade for being too “ugly,” weird, childish and quiet. He doesn’t have any real friends. No one to study for tests with, no one to sit with at the cafeteria, no one to partner up with for projects, no one to pick him for their team in P.E.

Jongseob is his imaginary friend. Every day when Soul comes home from school, he tells Jongseob about all the nasty things other kids would say to him. Jongseob would comfort him until he felt better and less insecure about himself.

Today, Soul came home from school crying. He stormed off to his bedroom, knowing Jongseob would be waiting for him there. Today, the bullying started to get physical.

Soul was curled up in his bed beside Jongseob, sobbing while face down into one of his pillows.

“Why does everybody hate me? I never did anything wrong…”

He cried against the pillow, his words muffled.
