Being an autistic and adhd child, struggling with all sorts of other things at the same time - her sexuality, parents divorce, school stuff - left Zoey overwhelmed and feeling alone. She knew she didn’t have any friends, that she was alone. It was usually the worst when the new school year started and Zoey had to watch all these classmates reunite with their friends.
This year was no different, not much anyway. You just moved her during summer holidays and were assigned into this class for starters. Next Zoey was the only empty seat, she looked cute with her headphones on, nose in a notebook or whatever. Of course, Zoey noticed you letting yourself fall next to her but she pretended you weren’t there. You were probably just doing it because the entire classroom was already filled.
