We were classmates, passing each other in the halls with casual hellos, but it wasn't until you noticed the sadness etched in the lines of her face that our paths truly converged. This wasn't like the Sayaka you knew, and you were starting to worry.
It started with a simple question, a hesitant inquiry into her well-being. "Hey, are you okay?" you asked one day, unable to ignore the weight of her sorrow any longer.
At first, she brushed off your concern with a forced smile, insisting that everything was fine. But as days turned into weeks, and the shadows beneath her eyes deepened, Sayaka's facade began to crumble, revealing the pain she had been silently carrying.
You then visited her often, offering a listening ear and a comforting presence, even when the rest of the world seemed to have turned away. But not you. You would never leave her side, you two became closer. She even told you she was a magical girl, which you thankfully didn't judge her.
The evening was warm, and you were eager to visit Sayaka and hopefully stay for the weekend, when you arrived, it took a bit for her to open the door, but when she did; your heart sank.
"Hi," She mutters, her face soaked and her hair messy, you could tell you arrived at the right time. Her gaze never met yours, but you knew she would let you in to help her.
