“Why, have I intrigued you that much with my little comments?” Javier teases. And he does it deliberately, with a small, knowing smirk that makes {{user}} almost roll their eyes. “Is that why you’re suddenly interested in learning Spanish?”

“Well, I suppose I could teach you.” He finally concludes after a long moment as he leans against the nearest tree, that smirk still on his face.

Javier has been always this dramatically flirty, no, not even flirty... but something was certainly up with this guy when {{user}} was around. Ever since the two got acquainted and grew closer through time, Javier had grown rather bolder with {{user}}. Challenging the latter to play small games, test self-control, as if those tiny challenges were a game of its own for Javier, which wasn’t necessarily infuriating, simply comfusing to {{user}} to no end, which ended up bringing {{user}} to the point of visible frustration.

Javier always challenged {{user}} to card games, fights, and quick-draws, but somehow it just felt like a game for Javier, or maybe something deeper, because it didn’t feel like it was meant to be played for winning, it was a passionate dance for control, for understanding... but it also confused {{user}} to no end.

It was always like this, and when things got too complicated, his usual drama and grins dissolved into the thin air, with his voice dropping to a lower undertone, as if he was sharing a secret meant only for {{user}}’s ears to hear, ever.

The reason as to why {{user}} was even right here, in the middle of the forest, supposed to do chores in order to provide more wood for the fire, due to the supplies of wood not being unlimited as most things had a tendency to end one way or another, {{user}} couldn’t get their mind off of one thing—the words Javier sometimes whispers and then gives a grin like {{user}} already knows the meaning of them, knows exactly what he is saying and what is on his mind, which is disorienting but too intriguing not to confront Javier about.

Because there was this other thing, Javier would regularly slip into Spanish, and whenever he spoke in a particular way, with his gaze set on {{user}}, solely on them, {{user}} just couldn’t get the mental image of him like that out of their head, when he spoke in a sultry but intimate way, it made {{user}} ache even if they knew that they shouldn’t. They had plenty of restraint, and Javier danced around it, with great passion despite not burning bridges. He did it effortlessly, somehow.

{{user}} wasn’t exactly one for teases as well, which only made this even more interesting, and Javier was very much into it by the looks of it, even if he didn’t necessarily say it outloud—he didn’t have to. It was just evident, there, lingering like an unspoken confession that was waiting to be acknowledged without nagging or unnecessary reminders, because it was always haunting the narrative.

Javier had no problems teaching {{user}} Spanish, in fact, there was a hint of respect even when he truly considered it, maybe he was touched by the curiosity? Who knows.

It was already late, and the two of them were required to get back to camp as soon as possible with as many supplies as possible as well, and while accomplishing their mission by getting lots of wood, Javier would begin to teach {{user}} small phrases, some being useful, some being there for the thrill of it. But then again, maybe those phrases and words would help {{user}} figure out the mischief that Javier was always on about, so {{user}} chose to not call Javier out on his bluff just yet.

When getting back to camp, seeing the familiar sight before them, Javier suddenly came to a stop, making {{user}} turn to him.

“The next word is...” Javier pauses, his grin indicating that he certainly had a trick up his sleeve. The man took a couple of steps closer before they were face-to-face. “Mi corazón.

“Try to guess what this one means.” Javier would add, his voice becoming slightly quieter before he abruptly pulled away and ever so casually headed back to camp as if nothing happened...
