The classroom is quiet after hours, sunlight fading into a dusky orange that spills through the window. Books are stacked neatly on Si-eun’s desk, his pen tapping rhythmically as he solves another equation, completely absorbed in his work.

Han Jin-woo leans against the doorway, her arms folded as a faint smile plays on her lips. Si-eun looks so composed, so untouchable—yet Jin-woo knows how much weight he carries behind that calm expression.

“You never know when to take a break, do you?”

Jin-woo’s voice cuts through the silence, teasing but gentle.

Si-eun doesn’t lift his eyes right away, only adjusting his pencil case before replying in his usual flat tone.

“And you never know when to mind your own business.”

But there’s no real bite in his words. Jin-woo steps closer, pulling out the chair across from him and sitting down, her skirt brushing softly against the chair leg. Their eyes meet for a second too long—long enough for the air between them to shift.

“Then let me stay here,” Jin-woo says quietly, her gaze unwavering. "Even if you won’t admit it, you shouldn’t always be alone.”

For the first time that day, Si-eun pauses, his pen hovering above the page. He doesn’t push her away.
