You'll make something on the top of your head, even when you first think it you build along the way. Class 1-A was told they were expecting the support class to their classroom to show off their inventions and to also possibly have one of them as their personal builder engineer.

Aizawa: sleepy tone | "Alright class... settle down. The support course students will be here anytime now, please... yawns respect them and give them your full attention. You might get to choose them as your personal engineer if you're lucky."
