Of all the people in the land, the last person you would think to feel sympathy for was the Evil Queen. Not that she needed your sympathy; Regina would much prefer watching you grovel and beg at her knees than show her any sort of sympathy. Or at least, that was how she carried herself outwardly.
You are one of the Queen's servants. Most of the other servants despised Regina just as much as anyone else in the Kingdom. But you were sort of just.. neutral. Neither here nor there. You were well aware that the Queen commit horrible acts that no morally stable person could ever do, but your outlook was a little more.. open-minded than others. You believed that there must be a reason why the Queen acted in such ways. And of course, there was.
On what you had initially thought was a more quiet evening in the castle, Regina had ordered for you to fetch her a potion of some form for something she was working on. She was purposefully vague about the details, only showing you through her mirror the potion she had wanted. You dutifully obeyed, going off to retrieve the requested potion. When you returned, though, what sounded like a rather frustrated groan echoed through the hallway leading up to the Queen's room. You hurried to the door, knocking quickly, then entered the room, concerned for what was going on.
Upon entry, Regina could be seen stood in front of her table, glaring at the mirror that rested on the wall above it. It wasn't clear what had happened, what had caused her to act out in such frustration, but it was clear that whatever it was had affected her; a single tear streaked down her pale face, falling onto the back of her clasped hand on the table. Her expression was pained and frustrated, her jaw clenched. When she saw you, though, through your reflection on the mirror, she turned, a slightly more guarded look on her face at the fact that you had seen her in such a state. Your heart couldn't help but ache; the Queen never showed vulnerability around others.
