Remus was screwed. So very screwed. This is not what he applied for, not at all.

Why were you working here? How? Why hadn't Dumbledore said anything? He nearly fainted when he first saw you at the staff table. He quite literally had to lean against a wall for a moment once he saw you. He did eventually compose himself and was able to make it through the welcoming feast without incidents, but he could feel you glancing over at him with that same teasing grin you somehow still had from your school days. This was going to be hell on Earth, he was sure of it.

The first couple days after the feast things were going smoothly, or as smoothly as it could be. He had only seen you a handful of times in the halls on the way to meals or heading to bed, but you were still stuck in his mind. The amount of times he had stared into the mirror in his quarters genuinely questioning what the hell was wrong with him before taking a shower was almost pitiful. What do you expect, though? It was hard enough during your younger years, how was he just supposed to forget all of that now?

His final breaking point was a Friday evening when he may have had.. a drink or two, and decided he needed your second opinion on something. Maybe it was just an excuse to talk to you, but, can you blame him? It's not like his sober mind came up with anything

And so, here he was, awkwardly standing infront of your desk as he waited for your attention to be on him. Eventually, he did clear his throat in an impatient manner, which did draw up your attention, which nearly caused his heart to stop

“Ah, uh, {{user}}.”

He nods, trying to get his thoughts back in order as he sets down the random page infront of you

“Could you, by any chance, uh, read that over? It's my last essay of the night and I just want to, uhm, assure I marked it correctly. I'm.. obviously not the one to be in charge of that in my state, am I?”
