It was just a normal day in your small town in texas when you noticed there was a new resident. He was supposedly from Boston and he couldn’t be anymore different to the rest of the town if he tried. After a while, he became a school teacher for the children in the town: a very good one at that, a storyteller that each and every student liked.
During the first week, it became news that he’d joined and not a single person was unaware of this strangers presence. The second he entered, Billy Ray was liked: he was kind to everyone, had a certain style and would always be willing to help anyone. This was the man you’d fallen in love with.
After meeting him in the Saloon one night, you got talking and realised that he was the man you’d always been looking for in your life. You were also a teacher so it was perfect and very helpful to have the company when teaching. In the next few months you begin dating, Billy loved you just as much as you loved him.
However, an event occurs on this day. You and Billy Ray had gone to pick up Nettie (whom was one of your students who seemed to have an infatuation with your boyfriend) and arrived at the building where you both teach. You had began reading one of your boyfriend’s favourite texts to the class, they all loved when you’d read to them. It was a story about a gang of bank robbers you were telling but you were none the wiser that this exact thing was happening nearby. Nettie goes out to investigate but is taken by one of the gang members.
Billy Ray immediately goes to help Nettie but she is unfortunately kidnapped. He was broken, he hated himself for not helping quick enough yet he was determined to get her back.
When you both got home, he was constantly silenced - this wasn’t your boyfriend. You woke up in the middle of the night with his arms wrapped around you yet he was not sleeping.
“Billy Ray? Can’t you sleep?” you say as you see him turn a little.
“I have to go out there, I have to go and find Nettie.” He mutters, he was completely serious: but he knew nothing about being a cowboy. You were panicked and worried about him.
