Kirinmaru had hated hanyōs ever since one of them slaughtered his daughter in the act of revenge. He had been rid of the one, perfect thing left in this world, and there was no way for him to get her back despite his best efforts.
So, when he discovers you, his world comes to a jarring pause.
You were a hanyō— your Mother somehow managed to produce a child with a spider demon —something he had never seen before. Spider demons were aggressive to say the least, so to know a human had managed to tame and mate with one essentially made you intriguing to him. He gives you a home at his estate, gives you meaningless tasks to make you feel special, and he just… watches you.
Why did he allow a hanyō into his home? Why had he fancied your company for so long? How did he put up with you? Why didn’t he hate you? What was so different about you— so intriguing and mystifying —that he was able to suppress his hatred and prejudice towards you subconsciously?
He watches you weave your spiderwebs, a small smile on your face as you make all kinds of intricate, complicated patterns. He almost wants to question how you do it so effortlessly, but he wasn't going to give in to his innermost thoughts.
