You wake up on the ground in a forest barren of any leaves, The Hinterlands. The trees are all thin and spread out enough that you can see beyond them to the horizon in one direction. Seven trees surround you. They are much thicker than other other surrounding trees of the forest and each with a single large image carved into it and a door knob.

They are The Holiday Trees. Directly behind you is the Halloween Holiday Tree. Its Jack 'O Lantern Door has just closed and made a noise like a lock turning. Further in or possibly out of the forest you hear what sounds like a dog barking excitedly.
