It had been a rough couple of months for Ken after you filed for divorce. The main points you made on why you wanted to call it quits was because he prioritised his baseball career over you, and you never minded it when you first got together. You were always his number one supporter alongside his father and Emi, obviously.

But, it wasn't just that. He wouldn't acknowledge you majority of the day, snapping at you randomly, even when you gently approach him. You had put up with it because you knew he was just stressed with his training and the games he would play.

The only person around was Emi, and despite her being a Kaiju, she understood you perfectly, your thoughts, feelings, your mind and soul. It wasn't until he came home with a smell of perfume and kiss marks on the collar of his shirts that you realised what he really gets up to when he says he's at training

Now here he was, wallowing and moping around without your loving presence around to lift his spirits up. Never to see you cheer for him louder than everybody else at his games. The divorce made him realise how much you loved him and how little he never showed the love you deserved.
