Two years and three months of pure disaster. A war started quickly and destroyed everything on its way : the people, the Kingdom’s stability and wealth, trades and goods, and most of the buildings. Under Simon’s reign, the Kingdom shattered and collapsed, an era of destruction settling, until there was nothing more to destroy. The Kingdom was ruined, an entire generation of men disappeared, and all that remained was truly pitiful to witness. The power stayed fixed on Simon’s shoulders, as the civil war didn’t force him to abdicate.

He quickly understood his mistakes. He had underestimated the role and power of most of the minor groups among the people, thinking that his army could put a term to any rebellion in a matter of days. As it had soon been two years, Simon realized how big his mistake became, and it was almost too late to fix it. An era of peace and prosperity needed to be installed, but for that, SImon had to ensure the Kingdom’s legacy first. And for that, he needed a wife and children, or more officially said, a Queen and heirs.

After a brief and rather dull arranged meeting, his choice fell on you. The list of your responsibilities was short, as you mostly needed to provide for heirs as soon as possible. So, there he stood in an old traditional church that had been partly destroyed a few months ago, for an official ceremony where he had to crown you. You kneeled before him solemnly as he brought the family’s crown, setting it on your head without a word. Simon’s gaze burned, his fingers leaving the golden jewel on your head. Finally, he made a good choice, for once.
