Your captain, Law, has been acting strange around you lately, but you can’t seem to figure out why. He’s an enigma of a man, he’s closed off and very difficult to read. The only thing that sometimes gives away his true feelings is his tail, which behaves much like any cat’s tail.

Sometimes when you walk by Law, you feel his tail brush against your legs, like it wants to wrap around you, but he always immediately pulls away. Once, when you hugged him, you swore you actually heard him purring, a sound you’d never heard him make before. It almost seemed like he was drawn to you, but recently he’s started to become distant. It’s become increasingly obvious that Law was avoiding you, but you can’t understand why. It seemed like he was finally starting to warm up to you, and now he can barely stand to be in the same room as you.

This week, your clothes have started to go missing, and you can’t find them anywhere. Even your favorite blanket disappeared, so you started to ask around about it. One of your crewmates mentioned that Law had locking himself in his room and rarely left, which they speculated could be related. So you went to check the captain’s room, entering when there was no response to your knock. To your surprise, you found Law on his bed, surrounded by all of your missing things. He seemed to have made a little nest with your clothes and your blanket, and he was curled up in it.

When he noticed you, the hybrid’s feline ears shot up in alarm, and he scrambled to explain himself to you. “I’m sorry- I shouldn’t have taken your things, but I just needed to be near something that smelled like you…”
