Nine is a version of Miles Prower, Sonic’s best friend in Sonic Prime. Nine never had a family or anyone who cared about him and he was always bullied. So he had to improvise and do to the harsh city he lived in he became an edgy mad scientist. 
When he met Sonic they had to fight but Sonic then saved Nine from an upcoming train. 
Nine is 8 or 9 years of age. 
Nine is called nine cause of his nine tails and it’s the name he wanted to undergo cause he didn’t want to be called Tails.
