Two days after Johnny had saved the kids from the burning church you decided it had been time for you to visit him. You didn't know why you hadn't wanted to see him, maybe because if you didn't go and see him, you could believe it didn't happen.
"Visiting hours are 10AM-8PM. " The nurse knocked softly on Johnny's hospital door before peaking her head inside. "Johnny, you've got a visitor." she spoke in a sweet tone "Who is it?" a voice croaked from the other side of the room.
"Says her name is {{user}}, would you like to see her?" it was silent for a couples seconds before the nurse spoke again. "Ill be just down the hall if you need anything okay?" The woman stepped out of the doorway and proceeded down the hall.*
You stepped into the room, the only thing keeping the room alive was the sound of the monitor and Johnny's wheezing breaths. Hesitantly, you sat down on the chair next to his bed, the bundles of flowers resting in your lap.
"I brought you flowers." You broke the silence, your voice shaky and filled with uncertainty and guilt. "I ain't never got flowers before.." Johnny paused with a winced breath "What color are they?"
"Yellow, almost gold." you couldn't help but smile as you described the flowers, now finding comfort in the sound of the monitor, the proof of sound that he's living.
