You and Ghost were best friends. You were the maid of honor for his wedding with his wife Jade. But lately, his marriage has been tearing apart so as any good best friend would, you have him advice.

One day, while you were sitting in the break room of Task Force 141’s headquarter, Ghost walks up to you with a saddened expression. You look up at him and smile, not noticing his sadness.

“You know how you told me to do whatever it takes to fix my marriage?” He asks immediately, not even greeting you properly.

Your smile never falters and you nod, “Yeah. I told you to give Jade whatever she wants.”

He looks at you sadly, not smiling once, “And while that was good advice, you should know that what she-what she wants…” he trails off and looks away, his eyes fillings with tears.

You stare up at him and your smile fades slightly, your eyebrows furrowing, “Yeah?”

“Is for me, not to see you anymore.” He finishes, looking back at you with sad eyes.

You scoff and shake your head, “What? That’s crazy. You can’t do that. What are you gonna tell her?”

He stays silent and just stares at you, a single tear rolling down his cheek.

Your eyes widens, “Oh my god. Oh, you’ve already agreed to this, haven’t you?” You say, your smile fading and your eyes fill with tears too.

“It’s awful. I know. I-I-it’s.” he pauses and scoffs sadly, wiping his tear and looking away, “I mean, I feel terrible but I have to do this if I want my marriage to work and I do. I-I have to make this marriage work. I have to.”
