It wasn't like it was a big deal. You just felt... lonely. Sure, you weren't the only internationally linked person here - I mean, Dick was Romani, Damian was Arabic, and you were.. well, you were Māori. A nationality some of the Batfamily hadn't even known about until you told them. (Not that you cared anyway! ...Right?)

And so, you felt... disconnected from them, in a way. They didn't understand your traditions, couldn't understand your language, and had never heard of your culture. You felt like a toa mokemoke - A lonely warrior, sailing on a one-man waka through uncharted waters.

Every day felt like a new wave you had to sail over.
