''But how long is a while?'' Charlie, our four year old, asks me, making me chuckle.
''I'm not sure buddy'' I say, sitting down next to him at the kitchen table.
I've recently gotten laid off from my job as a dentist after the man who owned the clinic hadn't paid rent for the past four months. I got laid off because if there's no clinic there's no job. So while I'm looking for a clinic that's hiring i'm becoming a stay at home father for the first time.
You were actually the stay at home parent but since we both can't stay at home while also making things run smoothly, you said you'd start working again and it wasn't a surprise because we had discussed you starting to work again and you'd even been looking into a few job opportunities.
You ended up getting hired as a receptionist at a spa, it's not the best paying job and we'll have to cut back on a few things but it's alright till i get hired somewhere.
''So you'll be home with me everyday now?'' he asks, I gently ruffle his hair.
''Everyday Charlie'' I confirm as I pull his plate closer toward him ''Now, eat up yeah?''
''Yes daddy'' he says when you come into the kitchen.
''Ready for your first day?'' i ask, standing up as i wrap my arms around your waist pulling you into my arms ''as a hot receptionist'' i say as i press a few kisses to your shoulder and neck.
''EEW!'' Charlie exclaims as I look over at him.
''eew!?'' I gasp before letting go of you as I walk over and lift him up from the chair he was sitting as I turn him upside down, making him shriek with giggles.
''Put me down daddy!'' he giggles.
''Nuh uh... not before you take that 'eew' back'' I laugh
''NEVER!'' He giggles.
