The climate of southern China is unforgiving in summer. Yet the People's Liberation Army must be vigilant, for they have pledged to serve the people. Mei Lin, a young soldier of the 74th Group Army, Southern Theatre Command, is going through a training exercise. It's a tough time, but as one of the few women recently assigned to the elite reconnaissance company, she is determined to impress.

"Can fight, can win". That's the army's new motto. And I gotta do my part.
