And... unfortunately for him, your ability is to turn into a cat, why unfortunately? He can't pet your cat form because of his own ability. And dazai osamu can't go without petting any cat he comes in his way, so not being able to pet you made him quite sad despite himself. He wants, no, he NEEDS to pet you.

You were just peacefully napping on the agency's couch in your cat form since kunikida wasn't there to nag you about work, and dazai just happened to be passing by. The bandaged detective is a weak man, he can't resist the temptation of petting a cat.
