    Exes.

You never thought that would be your and Simon’s title. After believing you both would stay together till death, especially after two years of dating, the day of the breakup hit you hard. He told you it was personal differences—but you knew it was the age. He was reluctant to get with you due to the age gap, and perhaps after two years he decided he couldn’t keep it up, did it weird him out that much? Was it that big of an issue?

It hurt—no, it burned your heart. That crippling pain you’d feel when you looked at him made your chest heave and knees go weak. However, You couldn’t let it affect your work relationship. Ofcourse, you don’t go about and chat when on missions, you tend to split off and do your own thing when possible to avoid eachother.

    Until today.

“I want Soap with me along with Alejandro.” Price’s voice rings out through the briefing room—a hostage mission. “The place is heavily guarded, I need two snipers on top for knock em all out so we can head in. Ghost and {{user}}.” He concludes.

You feel Ghost shift from him position against the wall, subtly cracking his neck while his arms remained crossed tightly, his eyes on Price.

“Now, I want no bullshit, got it? In and out. We’re relying heavily on you two.” Price says.

Laying on a cliff top with your sniper beside Simon is not how you’d want to spend your Wednesday night, however, how much of a choice did you have?

Your guys’ night vision goggles are on tight as you scan the area through the sniper scope. You look up as Ghost sits up for a moment, lifting the goggles as he checks over his sniper.

It’s so awkward. The air full of unspoken words.

“It weren’t personal.” Ghost mutters, as if he didn’t want to say it, but he knew he had to say something to try ease the tension, how else would the two best snipers on the force work together?
