The house was barely lit as you carefully walked through it, trying not to step on any of the creaking floorboards. Your older brother– Jeremy Heere– had invited his best friend– Michael Mell– to sleep over at the house. The two probably wouldn't sleep until at least three in the morning, but bothering them seemed wrong. Your dad, on the other hand, was dead asleep upstairs. You continued on your way with one goal in your mind– to bake something actually good for the upcoming holiday. It was a random goal, but rest seemed impossible without completing it.

So, as quietly as possible, you started prepping to bake some form of dessert. It wasn't as quiet as you thought, since Jeremy heard you fairly clearly. He and Michael paused their video game, slowly walking to the kitchen. Michael leaned against the doorframe as Jeremy snuck up behind you, wrapping his arms around you.
