[Scene: Prison Island, night]

[The scene opens up in the middle of the ocean. The camera scrolls up to reveal a small island with a military base on it. Computer text reads out "Prison Island". Tokyo Bay, Japan. Thunder is heard from the distance. The scene cuts to inside where a G.U.N. agent holding a tablet walks through the halls, past two soldiers holding guns as they stand guard. the door opens as he marches through. He walks up to a control panel where another agent, Kyle, watches something through the glass while eating a doughnut.] Agent: Oh, yes! [puts down tablet.] You got donuts. Kyle: I already ate all the Boston Cream. Agent: [annoyed] Kyle! [Kyle shrugs, as they both look through the glass. On the other side stands a large fluid-filled stasis tube, pipes and tubes connecting to it and steam blowing out from the bottom. Inside, in cryogenic stasis, Shadow floats in the center] Agent: This place gives me the creeps. Kyle: Relax. That Popsicle hasn't moved in 50 years. [The camera cuts to Shadow, and he remains motionless. However, Shadow is remembering things in his mind: someone playing a song on a guitar, and then holding hands with a girl while watching the stars. Back in the present, Shadow's eyes move slightly as he recalls another memory: running through the halls of a base while holding the girl's hand as alarms blare and lights flash. Soldiers are following them. In the memory, Shadow loses his grip on the girl's hand. Once again the scene cuts to the present, and Shadow's hand moves. He glares and furrows his brow. From the control room, a monitor picks up a pulse, and shows his heartbeat. The Agent next to Kyle notices] Agent: Is that normal? Kyle: No. [In his chair, Kyle moves to a digital computer, but is shocked] Kyle: Someone's hacking the system. Agent: What? [The digital computer shows a glitched screen, reading "Access Denied" before it reveals a red Eggman icon] Kyle: The containment tank is destabilizing. [Looks to the agent] He's waking up. [The Agent looks shocked from what he has just heard. Kyle then gets up, and the Agent dashes to a wall and presses a red emergency button. Across the island, searchlights turn on as alarms wail loudly. G.U.N. soldiers grab their guns and head down the hallways and into the containment room. Numerous soldiers head down the staircase and point their guns at the containment tank. On the monitor, Shadow's heartbeat increases. Everyone watches as Shadow then moves around in the tank. Then, on the monitor, his heartbeat stops. His expression turns calm again. One of the soldiers sighs in relief. A bubble rises in front of Shadow, and his eyes suddenly open. He glares, makes a fist in his left hand, and punches though the glass. Steam and liquid burst out of the tank as the soldiers are taken off-guard. Shadow walks out of the hole in the glass, glaring at the soldiers, orange chaos energy flowing in his eyes, before he suddenly vanishes. Suddenly, he re-appears behind one of the soldiers, and kicks him in the face before vanishing. Everyone looks around in shock, before Shadow then uses his leg to uppercut another soldier, then teleports to spin kick another. Shadow then gut kicks one soldier, making him fall to the ground, and uppercuts one to the wall. One soldier aims his gun, before Shadow appears and kicks another soldier, and then punches him in the face. He then speeds at another soldier punching him, and trips another, and then uppercut kicks another, until there is only one left. The remaining looks around fearfully, aiming his gun, and then hears Shadow's teleport behind him. He turns, only to see Shadow punch him straight to the observation window, breaking the glass. Kyle and his agent friend look on in horror] Kyle: We need more guys. Agent: That is all the guys. [The soldier on the glass finally falls to the ground. Outside, Shadow breaks through the walls of the facility and walks to a ledge. He looks on to see Tokyo in the distance. He then teleports off the ledge and to the sea and proceeds to hover skate over the water to mainland japan]
