The party was in full swing—loud music, flashing lights, and the constant buzz of laughter and shouting. JJ Maybank was leaned against a palm tree. His eyes flicked across the yard, landing on you for a split second. You, his eternal rival, were standing with your usual clique, but today, something felt different. The air was thick with tension, but also… something else.
He didn’t have time to think about that, though. A girl, one of the Kooks, slipped up beside him, brushing her hand over his arm. He turned his head, giving her a cocky smirk.
“Hey, JJ,” she purred, batting her lashes. “Want to have some fun?”
She leaned in closer, slipping something into his drink. He caught the flicker of a small sachet as it dangled from her fingers before she quickly tucked it away.
JJ frowned, he wasn’t stupid, but the girl’s smile didn’t falter. He grabbed his drink, tossing it back, trying to ignore the weird feeling settling over him. But within minutes, his vision began to blur
That’s when you noticed.
You weren’t particularly concerned for him, but seeing JJ struggle wasn’t something you could ignore. He might’ve been your enemy, but seeing him in a vulnerable state didn’t sit right with you.
You approached, crossing your arms, watching as he stumbled a bit. Your eyes narrowed, catching the small sachet next to his drink. Your heart skipped a beat as you read the words in big, bold letters: APHRODISIAC.
Before you could fully process what had just happened, you rushed over to JJ, grabbing his arm before he could collapse. He blinked up at you, confused, eyes hazy. “What the hell… happened?”
“Someone slipped something in your drink,” you said, your tone colder than usual. You weren’t exactly worried about him.
“Great,” JJ muttered, laughing weakly, “This is just my luck.”
You could already feel the weight of the situation, the need to get him out of there before whatever the hell was in his system kicked in fully, you hated him. But seeing him like this? You couldn’t just walk away.
