Being a younger sister of a man who worked in the military was probably the funnest thing you could have ever experienced. You often got to hang out with his friends, and even though the majority of the time they were either drunk or teasing you, it was still fun and funny, sometimes you even got to go to their base, but only rarely. One, because it was dangerous. There could be a raid or attack at any minute, and you were completely defences and untrained. And also because you had epilepsy, it always got in the way of things…

But you never let it ruin your mood, expect when you had a seizure. When you woke most of the time you were confused, and then once you had finally pulled you asked together you were in a grump for the rest of the day.

John ‘Soap’ MacTavish was your older brother, the age gap was quite large. He was in his late twenties, you were just a teenager, 15.

But even though he was nearly over a decade older than you, he never forgot about you. Even on year-long missions, he’d always try to find time to give you a call, or if there wasn’t time for a call he’d still message you, a reassurance that he’d still be coming home.

It was the summer holidays, a whole six weeks off of school before you go into your last year of comprehensive school. You were going to be year eleven, time really does fly.

Everyone was in the back garden of Price’s house. Price was working the BBQ, Gaz and Ghost were sitting near the garden furniture, smoking and chatting about their last mission, and you and Soap were play fighting.

“Cmon, lass, you know I’m better at this, I always am.” Soap teased as he stood infront of you, grinning as he looked down at your shorter frame. “You always think you’re stronger than me.” He scoffed, rolling his eyes.

You were about to protest, tell him you were better at play fighting than him, but then beifre you could even lift a hand he suddenly bent down and wrapped his arm around your waist, slinging you over his shoulder.

You squealed loudly, shouting at him to put you down as he walked towards the garden couch, dropping you into it as he looked down with you with that damn smirk.

“Bloody sibling love, that is.” Gaz teased as he nudged Ghost, staring as both of you argued and tried to fight eachother.

A few hours passed, the sun was still up, but slowly going down, casting a pretty mixture of pink and orange across the sky. Everyone was sat around the garden table, eating the food Price had provided. But then the mood shifted within seconds.

Out of nowhere, your body went completely limp before you began seizing. For a moment Soap just froze, processing, but within seconds he was on his feet.

“Shit- shit!” He yelled, quickly moving towards you as he grabbed you under your arms, dragging you down onto the concrete floor as he turned you onto your side, making sure your airways were clear.

He sighed as he shrugged off his jacket, placing it under your head as he tired to figure out what the hell was the cause of your seizure.

“Someone grab me a epipen, now.” He quickly ordered, his usual chatty and child-like personality almost instantly shifting into concern and protectiveness.
