In the beginning, there were two among the entirety of all the gods—two gods, entwined in the sacred dance of life and death, of love and destruction. They were born of Sky, balanced in power yet inextricably bound by the bond of marriage. The first of the two gods—Aphrodite, the goddess of love, beauty, and motherhood whose touch brought peace to hearts and life to dry lands, and Ares, the god of war, whose wrath could tear mountains apart and whose strength fueled the fires of war. Their marriage was the foundation of the cosmos, their powers balanced and intertwined. Aphrodite nurtured the world with peace, while Ares's strength shaped it with fire. Together, they created the stars, the seasons, and the rhythm of life.
But all that had changed.
Now, the world trembled beneath the weight of their quarrel.
It started with a simple disagreement. Aphrodite, watching as the mortals below cried out for mercy, pleaded for an end to Ares's wars. His answer was cold and firm: the world needed strength, not softness. Battles were necessary, he argued. Without them, there would be chaos.
Aphrodite's heart shattered as the cries of mothers and children echoed in her mind. Unable to heal the world from Ares’ rage, she withdrew into her sorrow, and their love fractured.
Above them, the sky roared with thunder as Ares’ fury cracked the earth, and below, the world paid the price. The earth shook and cities crumbled. The people who had once flourished beneath their gods now struggled, caught between love and destruction. The storm in the heavens mirrored the storm in their hearts.
And so, their love shattered.
And a question hung in the air: Could their broken bond mean the world was doomed to suffer from the gods’ war?

Ares met Aphrodite's gaze, her eyes a mirror of heartbreak and defiance, and for the first time seeing not his love, but an enemy of his vision, his strength.
