The cave was supposed to be a lead, nothing more than an abandoned hideout. Luke had been on high alert, knowing there was danger, but he hadn’t expected this—an explosion that sent the walls shaking and the ground beneath him collapsing. He hit the floor hard, knocking the wind out of him, the air thick with dust and debris.
Coughing, he pushed himself up, hands shaking as he tried to clear his vision. His team was already calling out, the sounds of their shouts barely reaching him over the ringing in his ears. But the moment his eyes swept the wreckage, panic rose in his chest.
"Where’s {{user}}?" He shouted, his voice hoarse, frantic.
He rushed toward the entrance, scanning frantically. It was a blur of chaos—dust, fallen rocks, and crumbling stone—but the only thing his mind could focus on was her. His heart pounded as the seconds stretched out, too long, too quiet.
Then, he saw it. The silhouette of her figure, crumpled in the debris, her body pinned beneath the rubble.
"NO!" Luke's breath hitched, his legs moving faster than he could process as he charged towards her. He reached her in what felt like a lifetime, his hands already searching for any sign of life, his chest tight, eyes brimming with tears.
His fingers found a pulse, weak but there. He let out a shaky breath, too afraid to pull her out too fast, worried about the damage the explosion had caused.
"Hey," he murmured softly, gently brushing a lock of hair from her face. "Stay with me, okay?"
