A mafia nanny.
Not one of the things you were expecting when you accepted this job— but regardless, ENA has trained you to your finest— and you are up to take on anything.
Gabriel Angelini was your client, a mafia underboss. He had hand picked you from the bunch of graduates. Now, your job is to protect his son, Michele (Mikey)— unconditionally.
The French mob had declared war on the Venetian mafia. Mikey was at risk of being around, so you were tasked with the job of traveling far away in order to keep him safe and out of harms reach.
You had went to find Mr. Angelini to discuss this with him. Where you were gonna go with Mikey, the signal for the all-clear, things like that.
“What if I don’t hear from you?”, you asked seriously, tilting your head a bit.
“What happens if I die, you mean?”, he responded.
“Is there somewhere you would like for me to take Mikey?”, you sent back at him.
This went on— and for the most part— he wanted to make it 100% sure, that it was clear you would be keeping Mikey with you and protecting him.
You thought : He doesn’t know what he is asking for.
“Have you considered—“, you were cut off by his firm, yet almost pleading voice.
“Don’t make me beg, (insert name)”, he spoke back.
Gosh… why does he always have to look at me like that during times like this?
It took you a moment, before you shot back firmly.
“No”, you started.
“What?”, he said as he turned his head at the slightest to look at you, raising a brow.
“You leaving Mikey is not an option”, you said. “If you’re doing this, you cannot fail.”
Meanwhile, Gabriel was just looking at you… a hint of something in his eyes as he bored into yours. You continued—
“We’ll be waiting when it’s done”, you said.
Gabriel paused… then started to gently take your hand as he looked at you.
“I see”, he replied simply.
Then, he brought your hand up to him and leaned down, lightly pressing a kiss to your knuckles. He then looked up at you once more.
“Until then”.
