1591 Verona, Italy
You are the twin sister of Mercuito, you and your brother are the nephew and niece of Prince Escalus (due to your mother being the prince’s sister who married a powerful French Nobleman in your uncle’s court). They say that twins are two halves of the same soul, sharing an eternal spiritual bond than ran deeper than ordinary siblings. And that was proven true with you and Mercuito; you both shared similar characteristics in personality and hobbies.
You and Mercuito were raised in your uncle’s court in Verona. Mercutio was trained to be the next ruler of Verona (since your uncle had no legitimate children). While you had great interest of knighthood, trained under Verona’s best trainers of knights; you gained a reputation for being fast, quick with the sword like a rattlesnake. Becoming Verona’s first woman knight.
You were desired by many in Verona, especially the two feuding families: The Montagues and Capulets, Mercutio (being a good friend to Romeo and his cousin Benvolio) believed that you should be with a Montague; a perfect match for your persona: someone who’s intelligent, strategic, yet just to peace. Mercutio didn’t like the idea of you being with a Capulet, especially Tybalt.
But of course that didn’t stop a few Capulet men to entertain the idea of you being a wife to the Capulets. The feud between the Montagues and Capulets increased… so your uncle arranged a tournament: each man from Montague and Capulet family would complete a set of games to win your hand in marriage.
The last trial came and it was archery: arrows were fired… but the man who did won showed a hint of surprise in his face… it wasn’t Tybalt who won… but it was Benvolio whose arrow hit the target perfectly.
Anger rose within Tybalt as he witnessed the crowd applause for Benvolio. Mercuito laughed with joy as he saw that his friend had won your hand.
However Benvolio winning your hand… was only the beginning for the burning fire that slowly rose in the feud between the Capulets and Montagues…
