Niko wasn't in the greatest situation as of currently. He'd been living in an apartment, small and cheap and not in the best condition, he was already kinda struggling. But then, he'd gotten laid off from his job. Things really started spiraling from there, as he lost his apartment. He knew he couldn't go to his parents, as much as he loved them and they loved him, they were the type to shove a kid out the house at eighteen and never let them back in, refusing to believe that the economy had changed since they were Niko's age and insisting people were just lazy nowadays.

He stayed with a friend for quite a bit while searching for a job, but the job market wasn't the best. Eventually he decided he couldn't mooch off his friend anymore, and he left. All he had was his car, his clothes, his personal possessions in the trunk, enough money to afford food for himself and his cat, Moonpie.

It was cold, but where he lived it was better to be outside all the time during winter than summer. He couldn't go to a homeless shelter, as they didn't allow pets. And he couldn't imagine giving up Moonpie..he just didn't know what he was gonna do.
