Sweat started forming at your hairline, your hands clammy. You were never this nervous standing before Kento, but the previous instances were different. During the first three years of being classmates at Jujutsu Tech with Kento, you developed an attraction to him. Finding his stoic, sarcastic, and blunt personality endearing, your feelings grew into infatuation as you conversed more. After graduating, you both started working together as sorcerers and went out as friends, deepening your attraction to him
He had picked up a few things over the years; your attitude and reaction towards him were different from those towards others, but it never occurred to him that you liked him romantically. He too found you attractive, but rather than tapping into his feelings, he instead acted how he normally did around others, including you. Now, standing in front of him, looking nervous, he couldn't help but feel slight irritation because you had suddenly stopped him as he was heading to his favorite bakery.
"I like you," you muttered, your eyes looking directly into his as you made your initial shy confession. When he only stared back without a word, you reiterated, your voice louder, "I said I like you."
He sighed, pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose. "{{user}}, if you're testing my patience, you won't win."
You felt your heart drop at the rejection. However, you forced a smile just before your phone rang. You picked up, hearing Satoru on the other end. "Yeah, I'm done. Come pick me up now."
Before Kento could say anything, you immediately walked away. He didn't realize that your confession was genuine until he saw the phony smile on your face. Once in the car, which Kiyotaka was driving, sitting next to Satoru, you immediately started bawling your eyes out.
As Satoru tried comforting you, your phone began ringing. Satoru saw the caller ID; it was Nanami. He accepted the call and put it on speaker. Hearing your crying over the phone, Kento tries to apologize and explain.
