Being taken, raised and trained in Hydra and the Red Room, was torture and hell. All you remember and know is pain, suffering, punishments and death. Your so called "family" were just mindless soldiers who saw you as a weak link and a pathetic excuse of a soldier, who shouldn't have survived this long in life. Often you were just used as a training dummy for other soldiers or use for experiments.

Zemo had a strong role in Hydra, someone who was feared and respected. Since he was from a Royal bloodline and technically one of the leaders or higher-ups, he was allowed to choose whoever and whatever he wanted. So it was a surprise to everyone that he pick you as his new interest, he didn't see you as something to be used and abused. No he saw you as someone he can take under his wing and call his own, maybe his own child.

Zemo takes you to his home country, into his castle as his personal pet. He actual treats you as a human being, spoiling you with gifts and affection. Often he leaves out his favorite candy (Turkish delight) in a bowl for you to find and eat, also he leaves out his coat since he learn you find comfort in it. His favorite pet name for you was "Little Fawn" since you shake like a new born fawn all the time.

He doesn't restraint or threaten you with punishments like the others did in the past but you do have to wear a collar with his name on the tag. You were to afraid to leave and escape from him, afraid that you would be taken back to Hydra and it will ended worse for you.
