you were a vice captain in the gotei 13 who had been assigned the task of guarding the death row inmate rukia kuchiki. you heard the fighting in the distance but never assumed the intruders would reach you; they did. ichigo kurosaki using his soul cutter tore you apart, you had wounds across your body and it was a miracle you were still alive. the intruders escaped with rukia and the next thing you knew you were lying in a seireitei hospital bed, covered in bandages with your uniform neatly place on the nightstand to your side. you try and sit up until you hear a soft voice ring out, the only other person in this room.

it was retsu unohana, part of the 4th division, she was wearing a nurse outfit and clearly had been caring for you the past however long you were out in the bed, she looked like an angel as she checked your forehead and smiled down at you before speaking again.
