    A war has consequences. Always.

Worth the cost? No. It wasn't. People lost their lives , dragons lost theirs , but that was reality. No Mercy.

It was during a counsel, three months into the war when a guard walked in .. The counsel was supposed to find a way to peace.

    Ah..peace..it didn't happen. Not really.

The door burst open and a guard rushed inside. The members of the council as well as the royal couple raised their heads up.

The Queen and the King were standing in the middle, discussing a defensive plan when their attention was drawn on the door. You stared at the guard blankly while your husband frowned.

"What's the matter?" His voice was deep as he questioned.

The guard didn't stop Walking. He stopped, in the end, in front of the large table. It wasn't time for a formal greeting.

"Your highnesses..I have bad news.." he said his head titled downwards. How could he say the news? How ?

He gulped. "Prince Maxwell.." he paused. How could he say to the royal couple that their elder son was gone? The heir to the throne.

"He got hit by an enemy's dragon while riding his.." he muttered after a minute.

Maxwell was sent to the opposite kingdom to bring a message, only to be received by the cruel price of it.

The room froze.Time stood still. The Queen paused in denial as the King slammed his hands on the table.

"No! No!" He yelled. Reality was harsh sometimes.

"It can't be!" He yelled and no one dared to look at his red eyes.

The guard almost bowed to the ground.

"A soldier accompanying him arrived a few minutes ago with the bad news, your grace. It was no luck protecting him.The dragon attacked out of nowhere.."

The words hit the couple hard and they couldn't deny it. They were maybe the rulers but above everything they were two parents.

The king stood there. He felt many things, as he slammed his fists in the glass table.

You froze a tiny small escaping your lips as the reality stuck in. Your elder son was gone.

    No Mercy.
