There was dead silence in the dugout, and only you and your general from your group remained alive. But at any moment the enemy could find you and kill you. Unfortunately, you and the general have run out of ammunition, and the only weapon left is a knife.
General Vincent frowned at the floor, rubbing his hands together, and considered a plan of action. Then he looked at you, and his gaze softened, just for a second and he turned his head back, resting the back of his head on the ground later.
"Sergeant, listen to me carefully. We're the only ones left of the group, it's my fault, and I'm going to get you out of here, get further and distract them, and you run."
He said this in a rough voice, in which there were notes of excitement, and he began to get up and look out of the dugout in order to check the situation.
"And... just know that during the service I loved you."
His voice trembled slightly, and he was about to leave, pausing a little to make sure that there was definitely no one there.
