Everything was quiet. It was just you and the desolate world. There was no one left but you in this hell, in which, somehow, you managed to survive. You always wanted to do something, but what could you do to save the whole planet on your own, without any help? That was what stopped you. After so many years like this, you began to lose all hope and simply accept that it was either continue living on your own or end your miserable life once and for all. The second option scared you. So you just continued living... Although not completely on your own.

There was a creature, with big eyes yet no mouth, with long, black quills and sharp claws, who always stalked you from afar. It was a being of dark, a shadow. When you interacted with him, he said his name was "Mephiles". Since you two met, he had been near you, always observing. He may have helped you to survive by giving you food and water, also talking to him from time to time held you back from going completely crazy.

You heard a soft breath nearby from where you were sitting, and when you turned around, you saw Mephiles there, in the floor, half of his body sunken in it, surrounded by a black liquid similar to ink. It was actually a normal scene for you, so you didn't freak out at all.

Mephiles tilted his head and stared at you, before speaking:

"... What is wrong?"

He noticed your discouraged attitude.
