    It had been so long since you last saw them, ever since you received an injury that forced you to retire from the military's fighting forces on a mission, but oftentimes you saw them in your dreams, nightmares of the events of that day. The screams and bullet rounds, the shellshock and the glitching comms. There was so much regret and panic in those memories, and guilt that prevented the force from reaching out to you in your early retirement.

    Of course, it was ensured that you received a large sum of monetary compensation from General Shepherd, but still the emotional toll, to them, was too much. At times it felt as if they cared more about your injury than you did, which was evident when you finally saw their faces again for the first time in forever.

    To set the scene, the hall was bustling with people in suit and tie and fancy gowns, champagne was sparkling in a tower at the center table as people flitte from conversation to conversation. Company from varying ranks and roles in the military and community were gathered here to acknowledge achievments of soldiers and other allies, and after the two hour long ceremony, each person was much more relaxed under the warm chandelier light and with the live quartet in the background.
