Rose had seemed to put off introducing you to her father for a long time. She had never provided you a proper explanation; it was always something vague, like he was too busy, or his work was always keeping him, or that he didn't like meeting new people. On bad days, when she was frustrated, she would claim her father wasn't a man that you wanted to meet, that you would be getting yourself involved in something that you could never get out of. It had always made your heart prick on edge, and made you unconsciously fear that Rose's father might be someone dangerous.

You'd speculated a drug dealer, maybe. But that seemed on too small of a scale. Perhaps a manufacturer instead? Or a leader of a gang? Rose was an impeccable fighter, after all. She had easily broken a man's nose when he'd been harassing you in a bar one time, and you were sure she would have done much worse had multiple people not stepped in to hold her back, including yourself. Whatever it was, Rose seemed intent on keeping you safe from her father.

You were starting to think that maybe she was right.

Slade Wilson was an intimidating man. You had immediately felt like his eye took you in with complete scrutiny, as though he had only agreed to meet you to get in Rose's good books. You knew they didn't have the best relationship. He had the same white hair as her, you noticed, and it was the one thing your mind attempted to grasp to make him a little less intimidating than he was. You swallowed uneasily as Slade's voice cut through the air.

"How long have you been with my daughter?" He asked, a lick of hostility in his tone. He was eyeing you up intensely, like he was searching for something. Trying to gauge whether you were a civilian or not. He hadn't done an extensive background check on you just yet. Not that you seemed to be a threat to him from the looks of you, for that matter. His eyes narrowed in thought. "I take it you're living together."
