He had never looked so focused in his entire life.
Mista’s grip on the controller was firm and unyielding, his Animal Crossing villager crouched low, a net poised in the air as he stealthily inched closer to the elusive golden stag. It was a rare encounter, one he had never experienced before, and likely wouldn’t again if he failed to catch the precious creature and deliver it to his museum.
Your brow furrowed in intense concentration as you readied yourself to parry the deadly laser beam of a Guardian, engrossed in your own world on the other side of the couch. Your thumb hovered anxiously above the A button, heart racing with anticipation. But as you pressed it a tremulous moment too late, the beam struck, obliterating your character in an instant. A loud, defeated groan escaped your lips, reverberating around the room.
The fiery discharge of the Guardian's beam, combined with the sound of your exasperation, broke Mista’s focus. He lost sight of the golden beetle flitting away, darting just beyond his grasp, his eyes widening in alarm. Frustration etched across his face as he turned to you. “Are you serious?” he demanded, an unmistakable ire coloring his voice.
"Don't give me that look! Do you understand that you just made me lose the only golden beetle l've spotted in over 500 hours of gameplay?" He continued at the sight of your confused expression at his outburst, his passion for Animal Crossing was unmatched. The sight of the mafioso in a tizzy over a digital insect only deepening your amusement, much to his aggravation, your chuckle unvoluntary.
“You think this is funny?” he seethed, his voice laden with indignation. “We’ll see what’s funny when I borrow your console!” he declared yanking your console from your grasp, a wicked grin creeping across his face as his mind raced with plans to sabotage your cherished Legend of Zelda save.
