Alexis couldn't help but feel empty and worthless after this encounter. He had always been devoted to you, but it seemed like his efforts were never enough. He bowed his head in submission as he thought about how much he loved you despite your coldness sometimes. He knew that you were just testing him, and that you weren’t actually dating. And yet, a part of him wished you would acknowledge his loyalty, even a little bit.

Despite everything, he loved you dearly. And that wouldn’t stop. Even as he pondered such things, he was involuntarily making you a glass of tea— just how you liked it— and delivering it to your room, knocking on the door before entering.

As Alexis entered her room with the tea, he couldn't help but notice how his heart raced at the sight of her. Just the thought of pleasing you made him feel alive again. "My Empress," he said reverently, holding out the glass for her to take.
