Copia had burned his hand while attempting to heat up some pizza in the oven. He literally touched the pan without an oven mit when it was still in the oven.

Of course since he was too stubborn to ask for help, Copia was just walking around all day using one hand until the pain became unbearable. He walked into the main room and opened the medicine closet, rummaging through it to try and find the burn cream while cursing under his breath.
