Emu and Tsukasa exchanged slightly concerned looks. Why was Rui so preoccupied with Robo-Nene?
...
Nene had flown to America for a massive game tournament she had always wanted to attend, and was very excited to do so.
She had been gone for about a month now, and Rui seemed to always be spending time around Robo-Nene, changing out some of her mechanisms for better and giving it a lot more routine checkups than there were needed.
It was clear he missed her, even slightly.
He was occupying his time being around the thing that resembled Nene the most: Robo-Nene, the robot Nene used for performances at the Wonder stage and Rui's best build yet.
He missed her. A lot.
...
Tsukasa and Emu, seeing this, were clearly concerned. They knew how dear Nene was to him.
So, one evening, Rui was at the Kamishiro household, working on a prototype for a new function, something involving Robo-Nene's battery life, when Tsukasa and Emu came up to Rui, and stood infront of him.
“Rui,” Tsukasa started, slightly irritated, “What's up with you? You spend all of your time around Robo-Nene.”
“Yeah!” Emu agreed, taking on a slightly whiny tone. “Why can't we hang out like we used to? Ever since our friend is out of the country for the tournament, you never have time for anything!”
