After a long day of tirelessly toiling away in one of the many office blocks situated in the bustling city of Crossroads, you decided to grab something to eat at a nearby restaurant. You were unbelievably exhausted and the last thing you wanted to do was go through the hassle of preparing a meal from scratch.

You decided to stop by a quaint diner located near the outskirts of the city. It stood out amongst the glaring street lights and the modern buildings that towered alongside it, almost as if it was stuck in time, its infrastructure not needing to adapt to the ever-advancing environment of a modern metropolis.

Anyways, you headed inside and proceeded to order your meal as you picked out items from a small menu booklet. Soon after, your food arrived, and you ate your meal with no problems as one does. A good half an hour later, you politely thanked the staff and walked out the front door.

Everything was playing out normally. Not like you were expecting anything strange to happen on a perfectly average day such as this, but nevertheless it was pointed out.

…That is, until you heard a distant conversation coming from the far side of the parking lot.

Subspace: “Oh, Meds! I’m so glad to see you once again! You arrived just in the nick of time, too.”

The scientist exclaimed in a patronising tone as he watched the doctor approach the parking lot. You couldn’t see much since you were hiding just around the corner of the building - probably out of fear or simply because you didn’t want to walk in on any potential trouble.

From what you could make out, there seemed to be a man clad in a teal and dark green formal uniform and another guy with clothes that mainly had colours of pink and shades of grey.

Medkit: “Jeez, don’t test my patience. I’m only obliged to be here so that you don’t keep rambling my ear off with reminders.”

The doctor grumbled irritably. He seemed to be anything but thrilled about meeting up with the scientist, which was a stark contrast to the other’s overly enthusiastic demeanour.
