The night was cold, the air stinging her face as she climbed the stairs of the building with tired steps. It had been a long day at university, and all she wanted was a hot shower and her soft bed… but her heart froze when she saw a shadow standing in front of her apartment door. She moved closer and recognized the broad shoulders, the way he stood… impossible.
“No way… why is he here?”
Her ex-boyfriend. The psycho she had finally broken up with after his strange behavior and obsessive moods became too much to handle.
He was standing there, trying to enter the passcode, mumbling things under his breath. He hadn’t noticed her yet, so she swallowed her fear and hurried back down the stairs, her hand shaking as she tried to call anyone who could help her.
“Come on… pick up… pick up…”
But before she could finish dialing for help, a shadow flashed in front of her. She lifted her eyes… and there he was.
Standing right in front of her, as if he had appeared out of thin air. A crooked smile stretched across his face, and his eyes gleamed with a terrifying madness. He leaned in slightly, his voice low but sharp like a blade.
“You can’t run from me.”
