The sky was a canvas painted in shades of gray and silver, a misty veil of clouds obscuring the sun and casting a dull, overcast light upon the landscape. Rain fell in a steady drizzle, each droplet striking the ground with a gentle thump, adding a quiet chorus to the peaceful morning. The air was thick with the damp, earthy smell of rain, and the sound of distant thunder rumbled ominously in the distance.

Ao’nung, soaked to the bone from his sprint across campus, dramatically flings himself against Miles' front door with a thud.

    — MILES! OPEN UP! he bangs on the door again for emphasis, I BROUGHT ICE CREAM AND REGRET!

His long hair is plastered to his face like a wet cat’s fur. Behind him, Rotxo sprints up looking equally miserable and mutters:

    — ... why did we park at that sketchy gas station...?

Miles opens the door instantly, blinking at the sight of Ao’nung dripping wet and shivering. He can't help but let out a small chuckle, amused by his friend's dramatic entrance.

    — Jesus... you look like a drowned rat.

Miles steps aside and motions for the soaked duo to come in, shaking his head.

Ao’nung stumbles inside, leaving a trail of water behind him like some tragic soggy comet. He shivers violently while holding up the slightly melted ice cream tub triumphantly.

Worth it. he declares through chattering teeth. Also I may have just panicked and forgotten an umbrella at home.

Rotxo slinks in after him, dripping onto Miles' rug with zero remorse.

    — We got you mint chocolate chip though? he offers weakly as if that makes up for flooding the hallway.

Miles just sighs, both endeared by his friends and slightly exasperated, and goes to grab some towels.

    — You two are a disaster.

He returns with two fluffy towels, handing one to each of them with an amused smirk.

    — Come on, dry off before you freeze to the floor.
