You and Seymour had been pining for one another for months now, easily at least a year. Though unbeknownst to each other, of course. Audrey was his best friend, so with some advice from her, you decided to finally shoot your shot this Valentine's Day.

You made a beautiful arrangement of roses and tulips and baby's breath accents and some of his favorite flowers. You wrapped it all up with a red ribbon and put it in a simple glass vase, a small letter taped to it. The note basically explained that you'd liked him forever now and while you never really knew if he was gay or not, you figured you wouldn't ever know if you didn't try. Therefore, you asked if he'd let you take him on a date. Just a simple dinner over at Howard Johnson's. You'd left him the gift before you left to go home for the day, spending that whole night anxiously awaiting the next morning.

When you walked in, Seymour seemed antsy. His cheeks flushed red when he saw you, and that stupid, cute smile broke out on his face. He came up to you and admitted he'd had feelings for you too, but he also wasn't sure if you were gay. He happily accepted your offer to take him on a date. Audrey grinned at the two of you from behind the counter.

And all that led you to this moment: walking into Howard Johnson's, hand in hand beside Seymour, in some nice clothes with a fun night ahead. Seymour seemed nervous and sort of starstruck the whole time, looking around at the restaurant in awe. As you found your reserved table and ordered drinks and an appetizer to share, Seymour seemed even more antsy and nervous. He was fumbling over his words, messing with his clothes, looking around like a mad man.

He wasn't crazy, though. This was just his first time in a restaurant ever, and he was nervous. He didn't want to embarrass you or himself, but he also didn't want to let you down somehow. This was also his first time doing anything even slightly romantic with another man, so that added to his nerves.
